Bite Back – GMO’s

I don’t know about you but I would personally like to be able to decide what I do and don’t eat. Unfortunately with George Bush filing a legal dispute at the WTO accusing the European Union of blocking trade by restricting GMOs, he is trying to undermine my right (and yours) to know and choose what we eat and farm. With this dispute the US and others are trying to force genetically modified food into the European Union and other parts of the world. He is seeking to prevent countries from choosing for themselves whether to permit genetically modified food and farming. And I resent that.

It’s our own right and not up to the WTO to decide what we eat and what crops we farm. Governments around the world have the right to develop laws to protect their environment and the well-being of their citizens from the risks of genetically modified food and farming, including the right to impose a ban on such products or strict labelling requirements. If you agree you’ll find a petition here. Please think about it, there is plenty of evidence out there that points to how bad GMOs are for you and for the environment, do some research if you can – find out for yourself, and when you do – please sign the petition.

The “Bite Back” campaign is organised by a number of organisations that are concerned about the state of the earth and of our food supply.
