Since the arrests yesterday in London, paroling the streets here in Paris, even the quiet, colourful, neighbourhood market street of ours are fully armed and uniformed policemen and army folk in tanks. Despite them looking handsome in their uniforms and eating croissants out of paper bags, the machine guns are a bit much.

Michelle and I went and had a ‘creme & croissant’ at the Quotidian this morning on her way to work, and as I left I noticed the tank outside. I asked the barista and he told me that of course the parade must start, the French must look like they are taking heed.

Nice show. I hope they can perform if they need too.
