Too hot?

Get this. Our bi-weekly netball game has been cancelled for this evening. Why?

Because it’s too hot! (stop your sniggering…)

Yes we are still in the UK, yes Glasgow, yes the normally rainy, dim, grey city in July.

Yesterday was the hottest July day in the last decade at 28.3 degrees C in Glasgow. Lovely. I’m going to prepare for a BBQ in the park tonight. There might be a few less people. Yesterday there were hundreds of people with their garage bought portable, 1 use BBQ’s – all generating plenty of smoke and delicious smells wafting up towards our place. We did sausages inside. It was still nice, all the windows wide open, sun streaming in until 11pm – althought tonight we’re going into the park amongst the rest of the revellers.

This is what summer is supposed to be like. Endlessly. Day after day after day…..

  1. What wimps! They should come spend summer in hot, humid, hazy mtl! Weather has been averaging at 30c every day for the past three weeks, with the humidity thrown in it feels like 40! Lots of BBQ, lounging on our terrace and escaping to the country for swims on the weekends… Today they are forecasting 33c, thank god for air conditioned offices!
I’m sure you’ll have plenty of time to catch up on summer weather once you move to Australia!
Glad to hear you all made it home safely from London and that Mylene and family are all well, when did it all get so scary???
miss ya both, Nan & Fran

  2. We can smell the sausages. Today we are having fish on the BBQ. But this will never taste like the fish and chips we ate in front of the Clyde with Elissa while Michelle is playing golf…
    Take care!
